Eye Examinations

Routine eye examinations are no longer covered by the BC Medical Services Plan (MSP). However, some age groups, and those with certain medical conditions, still have full or partial coverage. Here's how it works:

...as well as several others. If you have a medical condition and would like to know if you qualify for partial MSP coverage, please ask the staff when you phone to make an appointment, or ask the Doctor at the time of your eye examination.

In addition, many extended health care plans provide coverage for eye examinations.

Urgent Care

These appointments are partially covered by MSP. In most cases, the fee to the patient is $30.

Refractive Surgery Consultation and Co-Management

Pre-operative examination:  $140

Post-operative examinations:  $70 for each of 5 post-op appointments, scheduled at 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year after surgery.
